Bawn & Latton News 1st November 2011


Retirement Function for former Senator Francie O’ Brien on 12th November in Glencarn. Francie represented this area for 32 years and a large attendance is expected. Tickets cost €17.50. Please ring Theresa on 087 6853316 or Cathal on 086 8321236

The late John Hughes (Mahon)
The untimely death occurred last week in The Beaumont Hospital of the late John Hughes. John worked as a plaster for a profession and did some farming on the family farm. John is survived by his sister Mary, brother Seamus, Eamon and Oliver, Sister in law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends. To all who mourn the loss of John we offer our heartfelt condolences and may he rest in peace. 

Senior Citizens Party – on Sunday 27th November at 3pm in Latton GFC Centre. Invitations will be sent out, however, if you are the age and do not receive invitation please ring Carmel at 9669663 or Bernie on  086 1714265 to confirm attendance. The committee works hard on providing a great day, so it would be greatly appreciated if you could reply. 

Santa Claus – in Latton Resource Centre on Sunday 11th December at 4pm. Tickets on sale from 1st December.

Fingers & Toes Community Childcare on Sunday 11th in Latton GFC. Fund raising tickets out next week. Parents are asked to leave in two non perishable items for Christmas Wheelbarrow hamper.

Farewell and Goodluck to Caitriona Dempsey – Scoil Mhuire last week said farewell to their principle teacher Caitriona after sixteen years. Catriona is taking up a post in Ballapousta, Ardee as principle of an eleven teacher school. This is a testament to her professionalism. We wish her the very best in her new post and also welcome Joanne Mc Kenna as a new principle to Scoil Mhuire.
