Bawn & Latton News - 14th March 2010

Sympathy is expressed to the West Families in Latton and Ballybay on the tragic accident in west Cavan last weekend. May god help those that survived and assist in their recovery. Sincerest sympathy is expressed to the family. May he rest in peace.

The late Eugene Mc Anae (Lisdoonan & formerly of Latton)
Sympathy is expressed to the members of Eugene’s family oh his recent death. Eugene was laid to rest beside his mother Rosie in St. Marys, Latton.

Congratulations to Kerri an Edna Smith on the birth of a baby girl – Saoirse and also a new baby girl form Marion and Enda Mc Mahon, baby Lucy.

Hidden Heritage – Tuesday 15th March at 8pm in GFC Centre. The Latton / Bawn group involved in the “Hidden Heritage – uncovering your own Local History” will launch their exhibition on the research they have carried out on this area on Tuesday 15th March at 8pm in Latton GFC Centre. Guest star Pat Mc Geeney, Bard of Armagh. This exhibition will go on to form part of the ground breaking audio visual display “Hidden Heritage” to be launched at the beginning of April. This project is part financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund through Peace III Programme and funded through Monaghan Peace III Partnership.


Bawn Handball Club
Congratulations to Eugene Mc Geough who won the Ulster U15 singles in Kingscourt and also congratulations to Michael Clerkin and Michael Duffy junior who won the Ulster Junior B doubles. Best of luck to all in ALL Ireland Semi-Final.
